KILKENNY OFFICIAL OPENING ANOUNCED

Ian Fortune

It has been confirmed that Kilkenny will officially open their newly redeveloped stadium on Friday, May 22nd with Minister for Agriculture, Food & The Marine, Mr Martin Heydon in attendance on the night.

It really will be a momentous day for all concerned and a proud occasion for all involved in the sport in Kilkenny. Have no doubt, it will be a wonderful evening of celebration with some superb racing thrown in for good measure.

All are welcome to attend with the formalities taking place at 7pm approx. while racing will get underway at 7.30pm. The night itself will also act as a fundraiser for Young Irelands GAA Club and all races will be sponsored on the night thanks to the wonderful support and sponsorship from local families and businesses.

BUSY TIMES AT KILKENNY

On the racing front, this Friday’s card features the semi-finals of the Carl Rotheram Electrical A2 and the Peter Meaney Memorial ON2.

Friday is also a fundraiser for Evergreen Soccer Club so it’s safe to assume there will be another large turnout.

There is a significant increase in sporting organisations, schools and charities running fundraising nights at Kilkenny and with two parties also booked in for Friday, it’s clear to see the new facilities are going to prove a great success.

CHANGE TO SALES DATES

The Sales meeting which was scheduled for Saturday May 23rd will now go ahead on Saturday May 30th.

There is a very healthy entry so the sales is very much expected to go ahead as planned.
