There is real variety on tonight’s Shelbourne Park card, while plenty of sweepstake action should make for some fascinating action.
There are two stake finals and the opening round heats of an A2/A3 stake with a couple of decent races backing up the sweeps.
BOSCO READY TO GO POP
The final of the Go Greyhound Racing S0/S1 350 is the second race on the card and it really is a competitive affair.
Avongate Dara impressed in his semi-final, leading early from an inside draw but he is off the fence this evening and needs to come away racing from four.
Me Bosco makes more appeal. A rapidly improving sprinter with tremendous trapping ability and the early speed to become a top class two-bend star, he is perhaps the most likely leader into the bend. And should Georgy Roche’s son of Jaytee Taylor turn in front, he is unlikely to be picked up.
Portrush Ben is also proven at a high level and is well housed on the fence but he really needs to come away racing to return to winning ways. Instead, Me Bosco is chosen to lead home Avongate Dara and Portrush Ben.
SHAKA LAKA TO PROVE TOO GOOD
Exciting bitch Shaka Laka is likely to start a hot favourite to win the final of TOTE Betting A2 525.
A superb semi-final winner, posting a rapid 28.19, she can continue her rapid ascent with another trap to line success for Tamara Butler. Perfectly housed on the fence, she can get the better or Repeat Alarm and See The Wonder.
CAL SET TO WIN ON DUBLIN DEBUT
The three opening round heats of the IRGT A2 525 are quite open. Phoenix Cal is an interesting runner in the final heat.
The Ian Reilly trained daughter of Dorotas Wildcat has an ideal draw in red and boasts some promising form around Mullingar. She can make a winning start to her Shelbourne Park career. Group Silverstar and Ballyhoe Merl get the nod in the two remaining heats.
