POSTPONED LORD UNRACED HEATS THE FEATURE AT ENNISCORTHY

Ian Fortune

The weather, and more specifically biblical rain, may have forced the abandonment of racing at Enniscorthy last Monday, meaning two heats of the Lord Unraced were postponed, but the opening round will come to a conclusion this evening.

Both heats feature well bred youngsters and it seems safe to suggest that a number of those on show will step up considerably on trial form. Picking a likely winner of either heat is no easy task and it’s perhaps futile to even try, but it is worth throwing an eye over both.

For what it’s worth, the choice in the first of the two heats is Milltown West. He moved well in a recent sprint trial at Waterford and is open to much improvement. Sneaky Pete gets the nod in Heat 3 or Michael O’Rourke on the back of a decent trial at Enniscorthy over the standard trip.

The action at Enniscorthy gets underway at 8pm and there is an eight-race card concluding at 9.41pm.
