Clonmel plays host to the final of the 1XBET A1/A2 550 later tonight and the €1,700-to-the-winner decider will see Orderly Queue go to traps as the one to beat.
Jointly owned by Liam Cahill and Tony Lacey, Orderly Queue comes into the final as the only unbeaten runner, having landed his opening-round assignment in 30.03 before holding on to score in 30.24 last weekend. An improving son of Koblenz - Tory Aria, the strapping blue justified odds-on favouritism on both occasions and, although asked plenty of questions in the semi-finals, he is a worthy favourite given he is also drawn very well in trap one. His opening sectionals suggest he will be bang in contention on the long run to the opening bend and expect a bold bid from this tracker if gaining a clear passage. Of his chief rivals, Uisce Bertha certainly put it up to Orderly Queue seven days ago. The Maurice Organ-trained tracker, owned by the Blue-And-Gold-Racing-Syndicate, landed her opening-round heat in a brisk 30.12 but was arguably even more impressive when going down to a mere neck defeat in the semi-finals. Clearly very talented, the son of Jaytee Taylor has a good draw in two and, should he follow Orderly Queue into the back straight, it should make for fascinating viewing. Of the other finalists, Squinty Maginty landed a traffic-filled semi-final last weekend and has the tools to cause problems, while Kevinsfort Trump cannot be dismissed on last week's line of form. Prior to that, the Paraic Campion-trained runner clocked 30.14 and a repeat of that effort would put him right in the mix. The outside duo of Glencroft Vic and Slaneyside Joel have a little to find on the clock, however, and may require some luck in running if they are to upset the apple cart.
