Barry Clancy is on his travels and tonight he will be in Sunderland with his star, Droopys Monk, for the opening round of the PGR Classic over the 450m trip.
Droopys Monk has quickly established himself as one of the classiest greyhounds in Ireland with a potent turn of early speed.
The long run to the turn at Sunderland should really suit the hugely talented son of Signet Ace and he seems likely to have a big say in Heat 3 this evening where he takes on his litter brother and former Pat Buckley inmate Grouchos Chief as well as leading UK sprinter Good Acclaim and former Murt Leahy trained runner Droopys Orator.
Droopys Monk races from three and is expected to improve considerably for his recent 27.54 trial at Sunderland. Much will come down to how he traps but, hopefully, he does his sporting connections proud. The heat in question is scheduled for 7.43pm.
