OPEN 750 SEMI-FINALS, OPENING ROUND OF THE DENIS LINEHAN UNRACED

Barry Drake

Curraheen Park plays host to a fantastic 9-race card on tonight featuring semi-finals of the Two Wheel Training Open 750 along with the opening round of the Denis Linehan Solicitors Open Unraced Stake.

In the opening semi-final of the Open 750, a chance is worth taking with the Paul Hennessy-trained Lennies Desire. In the ownership of Lee Craze, the selection is a very talented sort, and that was a decent performance in defeat last week, running well behind Jaypees Cooper. He can be hit or miss at the traps; however, he will need his quickest start in this line-up, but if he can produce it in this, he should go very close. Desert Flower, trained by Kieran Lynch for owners the Hold On To Your Hat Syndicate, is next best. She clocked a 41.65 two runs ago and backed that up with another decent run last week, behind Jaypess Cooper and Lennies Desire. On that run, she is a big player.

In the second semi-final, Jaypess Cooper is the one to beat for trainer Shaun Conway and owners the St Patricks Valencia Crew Syndicate. The selection set the standard last week when clocking 41.86, and he stands out in this. He looks capable of clearing his inside runners early, and in doing so, he will be hard to beat. Valhalla Vision, trained by Ryan McCarthy for owners Dareen and Sean O'Hea, is next best. She's a lady with a lot of pace, and if putting her best foot forward, she should go close.

THE DENIS LINEHAN SOLICITORS UNRACED

The Denis Linehan Solicitors Unraced has a habit of producing top-class trackers, and it's going to be a very exciting event over the next couple of weeks. Droopys Monk, trained by Barry Clancy for Graham Ashe and Tommy Kelly, stands out in the opening heat. The November clocked 28.46 in a recent spin around course and distance, and he looks like a top-class prospect.

Razldazl Loreal is a very interesting runner in the second heat. In the care of Dolores Ruth, the November puppy has two fantastic runs in the book, and she posted 28.45 around here in a recent spin. On that run, she is one to watch.

Croydon Web, trained by Patrick Barrett for Michael Clark, has two fine runs in the book, and the September youngster should go well in the third heat. A 28.44 winning trial last time out suggests she's going to be a big player.

Trainer Barry Clancy has another smart type in the fourth heat, with Droopys Porter. The October puppy has 28.30 and 28.45 in his book, and he should be in the mix in this.

In the closing heat, Callaway Ryder, trained by Owen McKenna for owners the Field Sports Syndicate, gets the nod. A 28.44 spin around Cork recently stands out, and the August puppy should go close in this. A big run is expected.
