Graham Holland will have two finalists in the PGR English Oaks at Dunstall Park next weekend after Fahrenheit Jess went ballistic in her semi, while Ballydoyle Tina finished fast to take second in the last of the three heats.
Fahrenheit Jess went to the PGR English Oaks at Dunstall Park and a bright prospect with a bright future but she has very quickly established herself as the one to beat in the classic. The daughter of Swords Rex and Danish Robyn was sent to traps a 1-6 favourite for the second heat and looked every inch a long-odds chance as she left her rivals standing.
Showing the most astonishing early speed, she went clear by the turn and was relentless throughout, seeing off Holding Hollie by three and a quarter lengths in brilliant 27.87. It was the performance of a bitch with a serious future.
POPPY HOLDS OFF TINA
Slingshot Poppy will be a big rival to Fahrenheit Jess in the final after winning the last of the three heats in a rapid 27.90.
One of the three Graham Holland trained runners, Bombay Special, offered the most resistance into the bend but she stayed a middle to wide path and Slingshot Poppy moved on.
Ballydoyle Tina came from out of the pack to challenge late. Powering home, she went down by just a head. Newinn Uganda again caught the eye, flying home to finish just three parts of a length adrift.
