Paul Hennessy is once again targeting the English Derby, a classic he has twice won before, and his preparations go to the next level on Sunday with the Gowran handler sending over three runners for the various Derby Trial Stakes at Towcester.
Of course, his Gold Cup champion Coloursaregreen is already a confirmed runner on the day, taking his place in the valuable TIME Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile.
The exciting Lennies Eddie will be first into action. He made an early exit from the Kirby Memorial when finding traffic in the opening round but recently moved well in a sprint trial at Towcester.
Priceless Romeo really grew into himself at the back end of 2025 and he could by the type that would really take to Towcester. He lines out in the third of the Derby Trial Stakes and is likely to step up on his 29.17 (28.97 calc.) trial around Towcester.
But without doubt, the most interesting of Hennessy’s runners on Sunday is Lennies Desire. As we speak, he remains the track record holder at the venue after posting a stunning 28.39 around there in last year’s Derby Plate.
It’s worth noting that run came from the outside of the track but the wide seed has been left off him for Sunday and he will run from the inside box. Previous evidence would suggest he will move of the fence.
