GOLD LEADS TO THIRD TURN FOR FIRST TIME IN DERBY

As we put a lid on the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby for 2026, we just needed to finish off the ‘third bend’ table and we were somewhat surprised to see that Saturday’s final was the first time in the classic that Bockos Gold was in front at the sectional mark.
The powerful tracker was only third into the back straight but when Bouncing Monarch and Sleight Of Hand bumped early in the back straight, Bockos Gold took his opportunity. Going to the front before halfway, he would post a quick 16.98 to the third turn before charging home in a very fast 12.07, resulting in a 29.05 success.
