TOBI AND ATTACK TO THE FORE AT ENNISCORTHY

Ian Fortune

Unanimous Tobi and Terrific Attack came to the fore in the semi-finals of the Glengar Bale @ Stud Open Unraced at Enniscorthy on Monday night. Neither went particularly quick but there is a strong argument to make that the track was well back.

Indeed, the talented Monalee Haruto, a recent 28.50 winner at Enniscorthy, made all in the opener and only clocked 29.07, suggesting the track was even slower than the -.40 rating.

TOBI SHOWS REAL DASH

Truthfully, Unanimous Tobi and Terrific Attack passed the eye-test with both looking mighty impressive. The Pat Buckley trained Unanimous Tobi was simply different class to his rivals in the opening heat, showing brilliant early speed to race into a commanding advantage to halfway.

Ciaran O’Sullivan’s son of Dromana Bucko and Mystical Luna may have tired in the latter stages but still emerged a very comfortable four and a half length winner over Bells Princess in 29.41. Snazzy Back was another half length back in third.

TERRIFIC GOES ON THE ATTACK

Terrific Attack also won in fine fashion. Prominent into the bend, he ran a tight line on the corner to assert and really put his rivals to the sword down the back straight. Driving clear to halfway, he maintained a strong gallop to the line to emerge a good winner for Rhys Fortune.

The well-bred son of Ballinabola Ed and Vinegarhill Toni went on to beat Whisper Kiki by five lengths in 29.52. Mazie Mischief was another three and a half lengths back in third.
