SNAZZY HONEY A YOUNG STAYER GOING PLACES

The 5-1 outsider came away racing, and she flew around the opening corners in front. Brynoffa Jimbob was within touching distance for most of the way; however, the powerful running winner pulled right away in the closing stages to land the spoils easily. A superb performance from a youngster who looks like a nice staying talent going forward. Zippy Snap was second, seven lengths back.

In the €1,000 to the winner Vincent Morris Memorial Stake, Almighty Mike scored with plenty to spare in 29.85. Owned by Gerard and Stephen Purcell, the January puppy was in front early, and he stayed on well to score with plenty to spare. The 3-1 winner stopped the clock, in 29.85.

The Shebetheone A2/A3 Stake also got underway, and there were two standout performances in the opening round. Bruce Bay went quickest on the clock when winning for trainer Thomas O'Donovan and the M-W-D-Partnership. The 2-5 favourite took control early, displaying plenty of pace and power up front, and the June puppy came home alone, in 28.63.

Barnahask Jack was another to impress when posting 28.68 for Ailis Neville. The 2-1 shot took over at the second last bend from First Light, and he pulled away for a four-length success, which was a career best effort from the in-form tracker.
