GRI
With Shelbourne Park approaching almost 100 years at the heart of Irish greyhound racing, plans are underway to further enhance the Shelbourne Park Museum, and we are asking the wider racing community to help us tell the full story.
Over the decades, Shelbourne Park has been the stage for unforgettable nights, legendary champions, and historic victories. From iconic trophies and framed winner’s photographs to race cards, jackets, presentation pieces, newspaper cuttings and unique memorabilia, each item represents a chapter in the rich tapestry of our sport.
We are currently seeking donations or long-term loans of trophies and memorabilia connected to Shelbourne Park, particularly items won at the stadium or directly linked to its history. With almost a century of heritage behind us, it is important that we collect, preserve and showcase as many elements of that history as possible for future generations.
Many treasured pieces may be sitting proudly on mantels, carefully stored in attics, or displayed in kennels and homes across the country. By contributing to the museum, owners, trainers, breeders and racing supporters can ensure that these memories become part of a permanent celebration of Shelbourne Park’s legacy.
If you have items you would like to donate or discuss, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact us on museum@grireland.ie.
