MAGICMAN TO CAST HIS SPELL ON FLOWTECH DECIDER

In the decider, it is difficult to oppose Magicman, who posted a very encouraging 28.59 in the semi-finals last weekend. Indeed, Michael Keating is in flying form of late after landing the O’Connor Julian Vets Tri-Distance last weekend and he could be in line for another attractive pot tonight. Drawn in five, the son of Dorotas Wildcat has plenty in hand on the clock and a fast start can put him firmly in the driving seat for a fourth victory from just six starts. That said, this is far from a foregone conclusion, with some talented rivals throughout the field. The chief danger comes in the form of the rapidly improving Thanks Magic in four for John Joe Cronin and John Gerard Cronin. Just a May 25’ puppy, this lady has dipped well under the 29-second barrier in her last two starts and has really caught the eye with some big finishes of late. Should she nestle into a handy position early on, the daughter of Grouchos Duke is a massive player. Of the other finalists, Boozed Roxy posted 28.78 in round one and has a plum draw in red. She will seek to make every yard of the running for Paraic Campion, while Seattle Suzi may have a bit to find on the clock, but she is another that will be finishing fast for John Slattery in three. Meanwhile, John O’Meara is double-handed in the final with Ballygibbon Fury and Ballygibbon Lass. Both boast solid claims and ‘Fury’, in particular, has been improving with each and every outing, as evidenced by his career-best 29.01 in the semis. Ballygibbon Lass, however, is vastly experienced and may need to call on that valuable asset in order to make the frame. She will be flying come the business end but will need to hold onto the coattails early on if she is to upset the apple cart.
