GLEESON HAPPY WITH KATHLEEN

Droopys Kathleen trialled at Waterford over the weekend, posting a decent 16.45 for the 300yd trip and Robert Gleeson was happy with the run, her first after season.

Said Gleeson, “She walked out of traps but ran well and looks on track. We’re happy with her and the Derby is still the plan.”

The sensational daughter of Droopys Sydney remains unbeaten after five career outings and was last seen in November when capturing the Gourmet Islands Puppy Oaks. Of course, in the semi-finals of that stake she smashed the 525yd track record at Shelbourne Park, creating headlines across the world of greyhound racing and beyond.

It will be quite a draw when she does finally return to the track in the near future. Let’s hope everything goes to plan in her Derby preparations. As we speak, Droopys Kathleeen is amongst the favourites for Derby success with the sponsors Boylesports.
