FREE FAMILY FUN MEETING AT YOUGHAL A GREAT SUCCESS

The Youghal Track Supporters Club held a free family meeting at Youghal on Saturday afternoon with a great crowd in attendance.
It was a fantastic day for all in attendance, with the YTSC sponsoring the free Goody Bags for the kids Pic right: JJ Fennelly and Barry Drake busy giving out the goody bags for the kids. and, of course, the brilliant face-painting by Chloe, who was kept extremely busy throughout the day.
The super talented Colin Landers was another big hit on the day. He was playing some fabulous music.
These family fun days are a fantastic advertisement for our great sport.
The additional prize money on the day was well received, with the YTSC sponsoring that.
Oh and we can’t forget the trophies for each lucky winner on the day. Thanks to the Youghal Racing Team and GRI for sorting.

TWOMEY FOUR TIMER THE BIG TALKING POINT ON THE TRACK
The kennel of Liam Twomey, Lisgoold, enjoyed a fantastic day, winning four of the 12 races.
It all started in the third, an A5, as Witches Hum (Broandstrand Bono-Witches Ethiopia) made all the running from the inside of the track. Mary Jo made late gains, but the winner still had three lengths to spare at the line, in 29.78.
In the following race, an A3, Witches Mojo (2) (Good News-Witches Ethiopia) made it a quick double for the Twomey kennel. There was plenty of trouble at the opening corner, and the winner took full advantage to slip around the second turn in front. From there, it was race over as Witches Mojo stays well. The 5/2 shot came home with three lengths to spare over Hollyhill Skippy, in 29.71.

It was three straight wins for the Twomey kennel in the fifth contest, an A5, as Witches South (Head Bound-Witches Belle) exploded from trap four to make every yard of the running. The 11/2 outsider just had enough in reserve to hold on from the fast-finishing My Boy Jack. A length the margin, in 29.75.
In race eight, Witches Larry (Broadstrand Bono-Witches Ethiopia) led early from trap three, and the well-backed 11/8 favourite was soon clear of the field. The money was right as punters never had a moment's worry. Winning in style, the Witches runner had eight lengths to spare over Lucky Steen, in 29.79
