BALLYMAC CHANTRY CAN POWER HOME TO LAND END OF THE YEAR FEATURE AT CURRAHEEN PARK

Barry Drake

BALLYMAC CHANTRY is the selection in the end-of-the-year feature at Curraheen Park, the €5,000 to the winner Elite Contracting Design Open 575 final.

A very pacey sort with plenty of top-class form in the book. A real eye catcher in defeat last week, the super talented performer has strong claims in this. If turning handy around the opening corners, it will take a massive performance to turn her over.

Of the others, Bartlemy Mainoo, trained by Graham Holland for Sheila Mannix, is next best. In superb form in recent times, she comes here on the back of three fantastic wins. That was another stunning winning performance last week, and a repeat of that would make her tough to beat. Another quick start will be needed; however, she is capable, and she has obvious claims.

Holland's other runner, Low Profile, is another with a chance. No stranger to big performances around here. He ran well in the recent Laurels, and that was another big winning performance last time out. Has obvious claims; however, another quick start will be needed tonight. Must lead early to record back-to-back winning performances. Must go close again.

DA TAPPER FLYNN

Powerful performer with plenty of top class form around course and distance. Caught the eye in defeat last week, making plenty of late ground. Drawn well along the inside of the track, but needs to trap better tonight. Must turn close to get involved. Place claims in this.

YORKIE OLLIE

Has returned to form in recent weeks, running two big races the last twice. Hit or miss at the traps and will need a flying start if he's to trouble the judge tonight. Will need to do everything right in this very hot contest. Looks like a very tough task.

LOW PROFILE

No stranger to big performances around here. Ran well in the recent Laurels and that was another big winning performance last time out. Has obvious claims, however, another quick start will be needed tonight. Must lead early to record back to back winning performances. Must go close again. Player.

BARTLEMY MAINOO

In superb form in recent times, winning her last three. That was another stunning winning performance last week and a repeat of that would make her tough to beat. Another quick start will be needed, however, she is capable and she has obvious claims. One to watch for sure and another big performance is likely.

BALLYMAC CHANTRY

A very pacey sort with plenty of top class form in the book. A real eye catcher in defeat last week and has strong claims in this. Turning handy is key to her chances. Will be doing her best running in the second half of the race and she's a major player. Go close.

DRIVE ON PETSY

Big local runner who has run well in recent weeks to make the decider. At her best when leading early so an explosive start will be needed tonight. One to watch if winning the all important early lead, however, it will be tough. A lively outsider in this red hot contest.

SELECTIONS: 5-3-4

A special mention goes to the Curraheen Park supporters club who have once again done trojan work this year. They have put a lot of work into tonight as well with five finals down for the decision. Additional prize money and competitions are always well received and the Curraheen Park Supporters Club have ticked every box again this year.

Elsewhere on the card, Jade One can get the better of the Graham Holland-trained Bushpark Cathal in race five. David Harrington's runner impressed last time out, and she can record back-to-back winning performances.
